I wish we had a...

Today I woke up incredibly late and so enjoyed a peach on my balcolny with my dog and cats at a time when most people would have finished lunch two hours before.

While doing so, I flipped through a copy of Seventeen magazine and mourned the fact that America has amazingly cool clothing stores while Canada is left hanging. Think about it. Eventually, any awesome store we have ends up in the US of A. But do we have all the American stores over here? No!

There's no Target or JCPenny (which may not seem like much of a loss, but it counts). DKNY Jeans and Forever 21 are present, but not widespread, and finding such stores can be quite a trick. Plus, no Macy's. We get the commercials for Macy's...but we don't actually have Macy's!

Furthermore, most good magazines (by which I mean, pretty much all of them except for Hello!) are American and the cool contests they host are not open to Canadians. A total thumbs-down. If we're going to be reading them and buying them, you'd think the magazines could at least let us Canucks win something once in a while!

(We're also not allowed to vote in American Idol. Yes, we do have our own Idol, but it's no big secret that no one watches it!)

So, here's to wishing for American stores and the option to be in contests!

(But we'll keep our healthcare system and our Canadian citizenships, thanks.)
